The Damage Caused by the Heavy Flooding and Landslides in Sierra Leone

1. I am deeply saddened by the damage and many causalities caused by the landslide and flooding following heavy rains around Sierra Leone’s capital Freetown. I express my sincere condolences to the bereaved and sympathies to all those affected by the disaster.
2. Upon the request from the Government of Sierra Leone, the Government of Japan stands ready to offer necessary assistance to the afflicted people.
