Official Visit to Japan by H.E.Judge Ronny ABRAHAM, President of International Court of Justice (ICJ)
1. H.E.Judge Ronny Abraham, President of International Court of Jusitce (ICJ), will be invited as a guest of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Japan from 27 July to 4 August.
2. During his stay, President Abraham will meet with key officials of the Government of Japan and the chief justice of the Supreme Court. He will also give a lecture co-organised by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Japan, the Japan Insisute on International Affiars and the International Law Association Japan Branch. Furthermore, he will exchange views with experts in Kyoto.
3. Through the visit of President Abraham from the ICJ, which is the principal judicial organ of the United Nations with universal character, is expected to show to the international community Japan’s diplomatic policy and its efforts to promote the rule of law in the international arena,and to further strenghthen the cooperative relationship between Japan and the ICJ.
