Exchange of Diplomatic Notes concerning the Entry into Force of the Japan-Saudi Arabia Investment Agreement

1. On March 8, the Exchange of Diplomatic Notes concerning the entry into force of Agreement between Japan and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia for the Promotion and Protection of Investment (Japan-Saudi Arabia Investment Agreement) (English (PDF)
/ Japanese (PDF)) took place in Riyadh. Accordingly, this Agreement will enter into force on April 7, 2017.
2. The Agreement provides the rules in terms of promotion and protection of investment in a comprehensive and detailed manner. It is expected that the entry into force of this Agreement will further strengthen the economic relationship between Japan and Saudi Arabia, as well as promoting the investment between the two countries.
