Families of Former Prisoners of War (POWs) from the United States Invited to Japan

1. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MOFA) will invite a total of 9 families of former American prisoners of war (POWs) and their caregivers to Japan from December 4 to 12.
2. This invitation program is part of the program conducted by MOFA which aims to promote mutual understanding between Japan and the United States in order to encourage reconciliation of minds by inviting former American POWs, their families and their caregivers to Japan, who have particular sentiments toward Japan due to their experiences during the World War II.
