Signing of the Agreement between the Government of Japan and the Government of the Republic of Korea on the Protection of Classified Military Information

1. On November 23 in Seoul, Mr. Yasumasa Nagamine, Ambassador of Japan to the Republic of Korea, and Mr. Han Min-goo, Minister of National Defense of the Republic of Korea, signed the Agreement between the Government of Japan and the Government of the Republic of Korea on the Protection of Classified Military Information.
2. The Agreement stipulates measures for protection of defense-related information requiring protection in the interests of national security mutually provided between the two governments in accordance with the national laws and regulations of the government receiving the information.
3. The Government of Japan expects that the conclusion of the Agreement will ensure proper protection of classified military information shared by the two governments and lead to smoother and faster information exchanges between the two governments.
