Foreign Minister Fumio Kishida Receives a Courtesy Call by the President of the Chinese People’s Institute of Foreign Affairs, Wu Hailong


On November 9, commencing at 10:50 a.m. for approximately 25 minutes, Mr. Fumio Kishida, Minister for Foreign Affairs, received a courtesy call from Wu Hailong, President of the Chinese People’s Institute of Foreign Affairs. The overview of the meeting is as follows;
1. Minister Kishida expressed his heartfelt welcome to President Wu on his visit and appreciated the role that private-sector interactions play in supporting Japan-China relationship including the Symposium on Japan-China Relations. He also noted that Japan hopes to enhance dialogue, cooperation and exchanges between the two countries, as well as to deepen the bilateral relationship.
2. In response, President Wu appreciated the heartfelt welcome upon his visit to Japan and noted that ever since its establishment, the Chinese People’s Institute of Foreign Affairs has been promoting private sector interaction between China and Japan, and that it will continue to make efforts in deepening mutual understanding between the two countries.
