Awarding of the Nobel Peace Prize to the President of Colombia

I congratulate H.E. Mr. Manuel Santos, President of the Republic of Colombia, on winning the Nobel Peace Prize.
I would like to once again express my deep respect for the efforts by President Santos to reach an end to the conflict in Colombia that has lasted for over half a century.
I hope, that President Santos exercises his leadership to achieve genuine peace and stability in Colombia, along with the Colombian people and the international community.
Japan has consistently supported the peace process by the Colombian government thus far, and it intends to continue providing assistance that benefits the Colombian people.
