Message of condolence by Prime Minister Abe on the passing of H.E. Mr. Islam Karimov, President of the Republic of Uzbekistan
On September 3, Mr. Shinzo Abe, Prime Minister of Japan, conveyed his message of heartfelt condolence on the passing of H.E. Mr. Islam Karimov, President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, to H.E. Mr. Nigmatilla Yuldashev, Chairman of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis of the Republic of Uzbekistan.
1. In his message, Prime Minister Abe expressed his heartfelt respect for the substantive development that President Karimov achieved for Uzbekistan through his superb leadership during the difficult times after gaining independence. Prime Minister Abe also expressed his intent to further develop the firm Japan-Uzbekistan relationship built on the efforts extended by President Karimov to date.
2. Mr. Taro Aso, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Finance, Mr. Fumio Kishida, Minister for Foreign Affairs, and others also conveyed their messages of condolence on the passing of President Karimov.
