Final Agreement in Peace Negotiations in Colombia

1. Japan welcomes the final agreement reached in the peace negotiations between the Government of the Republic of Colombia and the Revolutionary Armed Forces of Colombia (FARC) in Havana, the Republic of Cuba, on August 25 (August 24 local time), and appreciates the efforts of all the parties that participated in the negotiations.
2. Japan has consistently supported the Government of Colombia’s efforts with the peace negotiations, and hopes that the final agreement will be signed promptly by both parties.
