Parliamentary Vice-Minister for Foreign Affairs Miki Yamada Receives a Courtesy Call by the Tunisian National Dialogue Quartet


On Friday, July 22, Ms. Miki Yamada, Parliamentary Vice-Minister for Foreign Affairs of Japan received a courtesy call by the representatives of the organizations which form the Tunisian National Dialogue Quartet (awarded the Nobel Peace Prize in 2015). The outline of the meeting is as follows.
1. Parliamentary Vice-Minister Yamada welcomed the Quartet’s visit to Japan and extended her congratulations to the Tunisian National Dialogue Quartet on their winning the Nobel Peace Prize in 2015 and expressed her hope that this award will encourage further democratization and stability in Tunisia.
2. On behalf of the Tunisian National Dialogue Quartet, Ms. Wided Bouchamaoui, President of Tunisian Confederation of Industry, Trade and Handicrafts stated that although the democratization process in Tunisia has been achieved, Tunisia needs to be more improved and that they would like to learn from Japanese experiences.
