Attendance by Foreign Minister Kishida at the United Nations Security Council’s Open Debate
1. Mr. Fumio Kishida, Minister for Foreign Affairs of Japan, will visit the United States (New York) during July 27-28.
2. Foreign Minister Kishida will chair an open debate by the United Nations Security Council on the theme of “Peacebuilding in Africa” in New York. This open debate will focus on institution building within the context of peace-building efforts, including confirmation of lessons learned and priority issues obtained from experience by African countries and discussion of initiatives for effective and efficient peacebuilding.
Additionally, Foreign Minister Kishida will hold meetings with Ministers and other participants at the open debate.
