1. On 26 April 2016 (Tuesday), Japan and Singapore marks the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between our two nations.
2. To commemorate this occasion, His Excellency Dr Vivian Balakrishnan is on a visit to Japan and Prime Minister Shinzo Abe exchanged congratulatory messages with Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong.
3. In his message, touching upon the multi-faceted relations between our two nations in areas such as economy, politics and security, cultural and intellectual exchanges, Prime Minister Abe expresses his hope that this milestone year will bring about even greater advancements in our bilateral relations.
