Parliamentary Vice-Minister Hitoshi Kikawada to visit Zambia, Botswana, Djibouti, Republic of Congo and Ethiopia
1. Mr. Hitoshi Kikawada, Parliamentary Vice-Minister for Foreign Affairs, will visit the Republic of Zambia (Lusaka), the Republic of Botswana (Gaborone), the Republic of Djibouti (Djibouti), the Republic of Congo (Brazzaville) and the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia (Addis Ababa) from December 8 to 18.
2. In Zambia, Botswana, the Republic of Congo and Ethiopia, Parliamentary Vice-Minister Kikawada is scheduled to hold meetings with key government officials in order to strengthen bilateral relations, including cooperation in the lead up to the sixth Tokyo International Conference on African Development (TICAD VI), which is scheduled to be held next year, and cooperation in the international arena, including United Nations Security Council reform.
3. In Djibouti, Parliamentary Vice-Minister Kikawada is scheduled to visit the operational facility of the Japan Self-Defense Force (JSDF)’s anti-piracy mission and to encourage its members.
