Former Prisoners of War (POWs) from the United States Invited to Japan (First group of the year)

1. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs will invite a total of 18 former American prisoners of war (POWs) and their caregivers to Japan from October 11 to 19.
2. This invitation program aims to promote mutual understanding between Japan and the United States in order to encourage reconciliation of minds by inviting former American POWs and their caregivers to Japan, who have particular sentiments toward Japan due to their experiences during the World War II.
3. The second group of the program this year is scheduled in early December.
