State Minister for Foreign Affairs Nakayama Receives a Courtesy Call from Chair of the Social Impact Investment Taskforce Sir Ronald Cohen


On May 27 at 2:00 p.m. for approximately 50 minutes, Mr. Yasuhide Nakayama, State Minister for Foreign Affairs, received a courtesy call from Sir Ronald Cohen, Chair of the Social Impact Investment Taskforce established by the G8, who is visiting Japan in order to attend a symposium on social impact investment. An overview of the meeting is as follows.
1. In his opening remarks, State Minister Nakayama welcomed Sir Cohen to Japan, and wished success of the symposium in which Sir Cohen would make his keynote speech. State Minister Nakayama stated that the Ministry of Foreign Affairs would continue to pay attention to the Taskforce’s activities and would cooperate with them appropriately.
2. In response, Sir Cohen expressed his appreciation for Japan’s cooperation with the Social Impact Investment Taskforce and, in addition, while introducing case studies from the United Kingdom and elsewhere, stated that he intended to contribute to the further development of social impact investment through the activities of the Taskforce.
