ASEAN Regional Forum Workshop on Counter Radicalisation
1. Japan and Malaysia will co-host the ASEAN Regional Forum (ARF) Workshop on Counter Radicalization in Kuala Lumpur on March 25 and 26, 2015, as part of the efforts to strengthen international cooperation on counter-terrorism.
2. The Workshop will bring together working-level officials and experts involved in counter-terrorism efforts from ARF member states and other relevant countries. On behalf of the Government of Japan, Mr. Yoshinori Kodama, Minister, Embassy of Japan in Malaysia will attend the workshop as a co-chair.
3. The aim of the Workshop is to share lessons learned of the participating countries and views of the experts on counter radicalization issues, which are attracting international attention. Through the discussions, we expect to further promote international cooperation on counter-terrorism.
4. Japan and Malaysia also co-hosted the Workshop on Countering Radicalization in Tokyo in February 2013.
