1. On January 16, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs will jointly host the 17th Regional Promotion Seminar with Tochigi-ken, Kanagawa-ken, Hamamatsu-shi, Kyoto-fu, Kyoto-shi, and Seika-cho at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

2. This seminar will give local governments the opportunity to promote the policies and appeal of their respective regions to the diplomatic corps in Tokyo, and it will be held as one part of a Ministry of Foreign Affairs’ project for supporting various international initiatives by local governments.

3. At this seminar, participating local governments will give presentations about the industries and policies etc. in their respective regions. Additionally, following the presentations, there will be an opportunity for local governments and the diplomatic corps to interact freely, and this is expected to promote foreign countries’ understanding for each region and foster the creation of networks between the local governments and the diplomatic corps.
