Message of condolences over the missing Air Asia aircraft

1. On December 28, Air Asia flight 8501 flying from Surabaya, Indonesia to Singapore went missing with over 150 Indonesians on board.
2. In the wake of the incident, on December 29, Mr. Shinzo Abe, Prime Minister, and Mr. Fumio Kishida, Minister for Foreign Affairs, sent messages respectively to H.E. Mr. Joko Widodo, President of the Republic of Indonesia, and Ms. Retno Marsudi, Minister for Foreign Affairs of Indonesia, extending heartfelt condolences on the missing of many Indonesians m and praying for the earliest possible discovery of the aircraft and for the safety of all the passengers and crew members on board, as well as conveying that Japan will spare no effort in providing necessary assistance.
