1. Parliamentary Vice-Minister for Foreign Affairs Takao Makino will visit the Sultanate of Oman and the Republic of Iraq (Erbil) for the period from July 22 to 25.

2. In the Sultanate of Oman, Vice-Minister Makino will have, as the head of the Japanese delegation, the Policy Dialogue with the Omani side, which was agreed by the two countries on the occasion of Prime Minister Shinzo Abe’s visit to Oman last January. In the dialogue, they will follow up the progress of a wide range of issues including the political, economic and cultural areas for promoting bilateral cooperation.

3. In the Republic of Iraq, Vice-Minister Makino will visit the ad hoc office of the Embassy of Japan at Erbil City which was established due to the deteriorating situation in Iraq since the beginning of June, and identify the measures to protect Japanese nationals and to support Japanese companies. He will also hold official discussions.
