Parliamentary Senior Vice-Minister for Foreign Affairs Nobuo Kishi’s Visit to the Islamic Republic of Iran and the United Kingdom
1. Parliamentary Senior Vice-Minister for Foreign Affairs Nobuo Kishi will visit the Islamic Republic of Iran and the United Kingdom (U.K.) from June 9 to 13.
2. In the Islamic Republic of Iran, Parliamentary Senior Vice-Minister Kishi is scheduled to meet with Dr. Javad Zarif , Minister of Foreign Affairs, as a follow-up to the high-level political dialogues between Japan and Iran that have become more active sincethe launch of Iran’s Rouhani Administration last August last year, and exchange views on bilateral relations as well as the regional and international affairs.
3. In the U.K., Parliamentary Senior Vice-Minister Kishi is scheduled to attend the Global Summit to End Sexual Violence in Conflict.

A Japan-Iran Summit Meeting was held on the occasion of the United Nations General Assembly in September 2013. In November of the same year, Minister for Foreign Affairs Fumio Kishida visited Iran and paid a courtesy call on Dr. Hassan Rouhani, President of Iran, and held a ministerial meeting with Foreign Minister Zarif. In March 2014, Foreign Minister Zarif visited Japan, and paid a courtesy call on Prime Minister Shinzo Abe and held a ministerial meeting with Foreign Minister Kishida.
(Reference) The Global Summit to End Sexual Violence in Conflict
The Summit will be held in London from June 10 to 13, 2014, with the goal of fostering global momentum for ending sexual violence in conflict. Mr. William Hague, Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs of the U.K., and Ms. Angelina Jolie, Special Envoy of the UN High Commissioner for Refugees, will co-chair the Summit.
