Visit to Japan by H.E. Mr. Toomas Hendrik Ilves, President of the Republic of Estonia

1. H.E. Mr. Toomas Hendrik Ilves, President of the Republic of Estonia, and his spouse, will make a working visit to Japan upon invitation by the Japanese Government from March 5 to 8.
2. During their stay in Japan, the President of the Republic of Estonia and his spouse will have a state call on Their Majesties the Emperor and Empress of Japan. President Ilves is also scheduled to meet with Prime Minister Shinzo Abe. Among the topics scheduled to be discussed at this Japan-Estonia Summit Meeting are bilateral relations, including cooperation in the IT sector with Estonia, which is aiming to become an IT nation, and regional affairs.
3. This visit to Japan by President Ilves is expected to further strengthen bilateral relations between Japan and Estonia.
