  1. 1. H.E. Mr. Didier Burkhalter, President and Head of the Federal Department of Foreign Affairs, Swiss Confederation, and his wife will make a working visit to Japan from February 3 to 6.

    2. During their stay in Japan, President Burkhalter and his wife will make a State Call on Their Majesties the Emperor and Empress of Japan. Additionally, Prime Minister Shinzo Abe is scheduled to meet with President Burkhalter and host a dinner, and Minister for Foreign Affairs Fumio Kishida is scheduled to meet with President Burkhalter. President Burkhalter and his wife are also scheduled to visit Kamakura City and Fujisawa City in Kanagawa Prefecture.

    3. This visit to Japan by President Burkhalter and his wife, particularly this year, the 150th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Japan and Switzerland, is expected to further deepen the friendly relationship between the two countries.
