Notification for Entry into Force of Japan-Kuwait Investment Agreement

1. On December 25, the notification from the Government of Japan for the entry into force of the Agreement between Japan and the State of Kuwait for the Promotion and Protection of Investment was made and was received by the Government of the State of Kuwait on the same day in Kuwait. Accordingly, this Agreement will enter into force on January 24, 2014.
2. The Agreement provides the rules in terms of liberalization, promotion and protection of investment in a comprehensive and detailed manner. It is expected that the entry into force of this Agreement will further strengthen the economic relationship of the two countries, as well as promoting the investment between them.
