Foreign Minister Kishida’s Visit to Spain and France
1. Minister for Foreign Affairs Mr. Fumio Kishida is scheduled to visit Spain and France from January 7th to 10th.
2. During the visit to Spain, Minister Kishida will hold Foreign Ministers’ Meeting with Foreign and Cooperation Minister Mr. José Manuel García-Margallo. In France, Minister Kishida and Defense Minister Mr. Itsunori Onodera are scheduled to hold the first Foreign and Defense Ministers’ Meeting with Foreign Minister Mr. Laurent Fabius and Defense Minister Mr. Jean-Yves Le Drian.
3. During this visit, Minister Kishida himself will explain Japan’s recent initaitives regarding security to the ministers of two major European countries which share fundtamental values of freedom and democracy with Japan. Also he will reaffirm that Japan will contribute to the peace and stability of the international community together with the two counries.
