Exchange of Notes between Japan and the Philippines regarding the Amendment to the Schedule to the Bilateral Air Services Agreement

1. On December 13, H.E. Mr. Fumio Kishida, Minister for Foreign Affairs, and H.E. Mr. Albert F. del Rosario, Secretary of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of the Philippines, signed and exchanged notes to confirm the amendment to the schedule to the Air Services Agreement between the Government of Japan and the Government of the Republic of the Philippines. H.E. Mr. Shinzo Abe, Prime Minister of Japan, and H.E. Mr. Benigno Aquino III, President of the Republic of the Philippines, witnessed the signing and exchange.

2. As a result of this amendment to the schedule, both countries’ airlines will be able to have increased access on routes to the said Agreement. It is expected that this will lead to increased travel between the two countries and in turn further advance the bilateral aviation relationship.

The Air Services Agreement between the Government of Japan and the Government of the Republic of the Philippines was signed on January 20, 1970 and came into effect on May 14, 1970.
