Statement by the Press Secretary, Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Japan, on the Terrorist Attack on Defense Ministry of Yemen

1. The Government of Japan is deeply shocked and outraged by a terrorist attack on the Ministry of Defense on December 5 in Sana’a, the capital city of the Republic of Yemen, which caused the many deaths and injuries. Japan expresses its deepest condolences to the victims and their bereaved families.
2. Japan strongly condemns such an act of terrorism as inexcusable and reiterates that no act of terrorism can be justified.
3. The Government of Japan actively supports Yemen’s efforts to pursue nation-building through the process of the “National Dialogue Conference.”
