Japan-Canada Joint Economic Committee

1. The 26th Japan-Canada Joint Economic Committee will be held in Tokyo on December 10.

2. The dialogue will be chaired on the Japanese side by Mr. Yasumasa Nagamine, Deputy Minister for Foreign Affairs, and attended by those officials concerned from the Ministry of Finance, the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries and Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry; and chaired on the Canadian side by Mr. Simon Kennedy, Deputy Minister of International Trade, Department of Foreign Affairs, Trade and Development Canada and attended by Mr. Mackenzie Clugston, Ambassador to Japan and those officials concerned from the Department of Foreign Affairs, Trade and Development Canada.

3. The Committee will discuss broad topics including Japan- Canada bilateral economic relations and trade policy, cooperation on energy and natural resources as well as international economic issues.
