Courtesy Call on State Minister for Foreign Affairs Yamada by the Japan Disaster Relief Urban Search and Rescue Team in Response to the Earthquake in Southeastern Türkiye

On February 24, Mr. YAMADA Kenji, State Minister for Foreign Affairs, received a courtesy call from members of the Japan Disaster Relief (JDR) Urban Search and Rescue (USAR) Team that was deployed in response to the earthquake in southeastern Türkiye. The overview is as follows.
- At the outset, State Minister Yamada welcomed leader YAMAMOTO Hideaki and other members of the JDR USAR Team, and expressed his deep respect for its efforts in heading to the disaster site immediately after the earthquake and working hard in extremely cold, harsh conditions amid fears of aftershocks.
- State Minister Yamada then exchanged views with the attendees and reiterated his appreciation to the team members. State Minister Yamada stated that he believed their search and rescue activities brought much encouragement to the people of Türkiye, touching on the longstanding friendly relations between the two countries.
