Emergency Assistance to the Syrian Arab Republic in Response to the damages caused by the Earthquake (Handover to Syria)

On February 15, the emergency relief goods (blankets, sleeping pads, plastic sheets and tents) that the Government of Japan had decided to provide through the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA), in response to the damages caused by the earthquake in the Syrian Arab Republic, have arrived at Damascus Airport.
- These emergency relief goods were handed over to Syria at the airport, in the presence of Mr. MIYAKE Hirofumi, Chargé d'Affaires of the Embassy of Japan in Syria and Mr. Khaled HBOUBATI, President of the Syrian Arab Red Crescent.
- These goods were immediately transshipped to trucks and transferred to the areas affected by the earthquake.
- Japan will continue to provide assistance in light of the needs on the ground while closely communicating with the Government of Syria.
