Emergency Assistance to the Northwestern Part of Islamic Republic of Iran in Response to the Earthquake
Today, February 10, 2023, upon the request of the Government of the Islamic Republic of Iran, the Government of Japan has decided to provide emergency relief goods (blankets) through the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) to Iran in response to the damages caused by the earthquake.
In light of the humanitarian perspective and the close relations between Japan and the Islamic Republic of Iran, Japan has decided to provide emergency assistance to Iran to support people affected by the earthquake.

In Iran, the earthquake occurred the country on January 28, 2023 has resulted in a large number of those affected including the loss of lives, and significant physical damage. According to the UNRCO, as of February 8, 2023, 3 people died, 1,445 people injured, and more than 260 thousand people were affected.
