Courtesy Call on Foreign Minister Hayashi by the Council of Arab Ambassadors in Japan

On October 24, commencing at 1:30 p.m. for approximately 30 minutes, Mr. HAYASHI Yoshimasa, Minister for Foreign Affairs of Japan, received a courtesy call from the Council of Arab Ambassadors in Japan(*). The overview is as follows.
- At the outset, Minister Hayashi stated thatJapan attaches great importance to the long-standing friendly relations with the Arab countries and expressed his hope to continue to strengthen cooperation with the Arab world, including through bilateral exchanges.
- In response, Ambassador Waleed Ali SIAM, Representative of the Permanent General Mission of Palestine and Dean of the Council of Arab Ambassadors in Japan, appreciated Japan’s role and assistance in the Arab world, and stated that the Council would like to continue developing the Japan-Arab relations in various ways. Furthermore, Minister Hayashi and the ambassadors discussed issues including the situation in Ukraine and East Asia as well as the issue of the Middle East Peace, and concurred on closely cooperating both bilaterally and in the international fora.
