A New Visa Waiver Measure for Nationals of the United Arab Emirates in Possession of Ordinary Passports

The visa waiver measure based on the Passport Registration System has been in operation since 2017 for ordinary passport holders of the United Arab Emirates (UAE), who wish to enter Japan. A new visa waiver measure with no prior registration will commence from November 1, 2022, for those who meet the following requirements.
This year marks the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Japan and the UAE. It is expected that the exchange between Japan and the UAE will further develop in the future by this visa waiver measure which would bring an increase in the number of tourists from the UAE to Japan and improvement of convenience in conducting business activities.

Nationals of the UAE in possession of valid ordinary passports of the UAE which are ICAO compliant IC Passports - Outline of the New Visa Waiver Measure
Purpose of visit: Short-term stay (for sightseeing, business, or visit to relatives/friends, etc.)
Duration of stay: 30 days - Notes
Since the duration of stay is limited to 30 days, those who plan to stay in Japan for more than 30 days or want to work in Japan need to obtain visas in advance.
