Agreement on Israel-Lebanon Maritime Boundary

- On October 11 (local time), the governments of Israel and Lebanon announced respectively that they had reached a consensus on a draft agreement on the maritime boundary between the two countries.
- The announcement this time has a significant meaning not only for confidence-building between them, but for the easing of tensions and stability in the region. The Government of Japan highly appreciates the efforts made by the two countries in the lead-up to this announcement, as well as the mediation efforts by the United States, and strongly hopes for constructive engagement of the parties concerned toward its finalization and implementation.
- The Government of Japan will continue to make efforts for peace and stability in the region.
