Sixth Round of Negotiations on the Japan-Angola Investment Agreement

  1. On August 9 and 10 (same day local time in Angola), the sixth round of negotiations on the Japan-Angola Investment Agreement was held as a video conference, and both sides reached an agreement in principle on text of the Agreement(Note).
  2. Both sides will continue necessary procedures including completing the Annexes towards an early signing and conclusion of this Agreement.
  3. Japan will continue to promote Japanese companies’ investment in Africa towards the Eighth Tokyo International Conference on African Development (TICAD 8) to be held in Tunisia this month.

    4. (Note) This Agreement is a treaty based on liberalization.
