- Japan deeply deplores the terrorist attack in Western Sinai, which caused many victims among Egyptian soldiers on May 7 (local time). Japan expresses its condolences to their families and extends its heartfelt sympathy to those who were injured.
- Acts of terrorism cannot be justified for any reason, and Japan firmly condemns terrorism in all its forms.
