  1. The Government of Japan welcomes and supports the U.S. announcement not to conduct destructive, direct-ascent anti-satellite (ASAT) missile testing. This is a positive step towards formulating norms of responsible behavior in outer space.
  2. Based on the above-mentioned position, the Government of Japan, in cooperation with like-minded countries including the United States, will continue to actively promote the discussions in the international arena concerning the establishment of norms of responsible behavior in outer space.
