Video Teleconference Meeting between Mr. HONDA Taro, Parliamentary Vice-Minister for Foreign Affairs
and Her Excellency Ms. Natela Turnava, Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development of Georgia

On December 17, commencing at 4:00 p.m. for approximately 35 minutes, Mr. HONDA Taro, Parliamentary Vice-Minister for Foreign Affairs, held a video teleconference meeting with H.E. Ms. Natela Turnava, Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development of Georgia.
- At the outset, Parliamentary Vice-Minister Honda welcomed that Japan and Georgia have made progress in economic relationships, including entry into force of “the Japan-Georgia Investment Agreement” and “the Japan-Georgia Tax Convention” in July, 2021. He also expressed expectation towards that mutual investments and economic exchanges will be further promoted under Georgia’s favorable business climate, which is highly evaluated by the international community.
- Minister Turnava expressed deep gratitude for Japan’s Invitation Program in virtual form and expressed desire to expand exchanges with relevant organizations and Japanese companies including renewable energy and other various sectors. She reiterated that the Government of Georgia will support further presence of Japanese companies in the Georgia’s market.
- The two sides shared the view that Japan and Georgia will expand cooperation in various fields taking the opportunity of the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Japan and Georgia in 2022 and utilizing momentum generated by visit of Minister Turnava.
