Terrorist attack in Afghanistan (Statement by Press Secretary YOSHIDA Tomoyuki)

  1. On October 8, 2021, an explosion occurred in a mosque in Kunduz, northeastern Afghanistan and caused many civilian deaths and casualties. Japan condemns the terrorist attack in the strongest possible terms. We express our heartfelt condolences to the victims and the bereaved families, and pray for the swift recovery of those who were injured.
  2. Japan, in close collaboration with the international community, will continue making efforts to contribute towards realizing peace and stability in Afghanistan.
