The 6th Japan-UK Bilateral Consultation on Cyberspace were held online on June 28th, 2021.

1. Mr. AKAHORI Takeshi, Ambassador in charge of Cyber Policy, Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MOFA) of Japan, and Mr. William Middleton, Director Cyber, National Security Directorate, the Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office, as well as representatives from relevant ministries and agencies (UK: the Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office (FCDO), Department for Digital, Culture, Media and Sport (DCMS), and National Cyber Security Centre (NCSC). Japan: Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MOFA), National Security Secretariat (NSS), National center of Incident readiness and Strategy for Cybersecurity (NISC), National Police Agency (NPA),Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications (MIC), Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry (METI), and Ministry of Defense (MOD)) attended the consultation.

2. Both sides exchanged views on their respective cybersecurity strategies and recent efforts. They also discussed their bilateral cooperation on various issues such as, cooperation in international forums including the United Nations, capacity building and cyber resilience and telecommunications diversification.
