The 3rd Japan-China-ROK Counter-Terrorism Consultation

- The 3rd Japan-China-ROK Counter-Terrorism Consultation will be held in Beijing, China, on May 15.
- H.E. Mr. Tsukasa Kawada, Ambassador in charge of International Cooperation for Countering Terrorism and International Organized Crime, Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Japan, H.E. Mr. Liu Guangyuan, Director General of the Department of External Security Affairs, Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the People’s Republic of China and H.E Mr. Choi Sung-joo, Ambassador for International Security Affairs, Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Korea will represent respective sides. Officials from counter-terrorism related ministries and agencies from three countries will also attend the meeting.
- In this trilateral consultation, Japan, China and ROK will share information on the international and regional terrorism situations and also exchange views on their matters of interest with regard to international counter-terrorism cooperation.

The first meeting was held in ROK on March, 2011, following the ‘‘Trilateral Cooperation VISION 2020’’ released at the Trilateral Summit Meeting in May, 2010, in which the three leaders decided to convene a trilateral meeting of experts to eliminate terrorism. The second consultation was held in Sendai, on July 2012. Holding the Consultation this time was decided at the Trilateral Foreign Ministers’ Meeting this March in Seoul.
