The Fourth Japan-Singapore Maritime Security Dialogue

1. On September 8, the Fourth Japan-Singapore Maritime Security Dialogue was held at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Singapore.
 
2. From the Japanese side, Ambassador (Policy Planning, International Security Policy) Shingo YAMAGAMI, and other officials from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs as well as the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism attended this dialogue. From the Singaporean side, Senior Specialist Adviser Ambassador Mary Seet-Cheng and other officials from the relevant agencies participated.
 
3. The Dialogue covered a wide range of issues including the safety of navigation in vital sea areas such as the Straits of Malacca and Singapore, counter-piracy measures, the Regional Cooperation Agreement on Combating Piracy and Armed Robbery against Ships in Asia (ReCAAP), and maritime security efforts in Asia including the South China Sea and the East China Sea.
