Declassification of Diplomatic Records

  1. On December 23, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs declassifies 26 files of diplomatic records at the Diplomatic Archives of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
    The files include records concerning important diplomatic events around 1989: bilateral meetings on the occasion of the Funeral Ceremony of the Emperor Showa/Ceremonies of the Enthronement of the Emperor (Heisei), Japan-US and Japan-UK high-level visits, the Tiananmen Square Incident, the Combodian Peace Process, the 15th G7 Summit (Arch Summit), and the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC).
