The 5th Trilateral Cyber Policy Consultation

The 5th Trilateral Cyber Policy Consultation among Japan, the People’s Republic of China, and the Republic of Korea was held online on December 9th.
- Mr. AKAHORI Takeshi, Ambassador in charge of International Security Policy and Cyber Policy, Ministry of Foreign Affairs of JAPAN, Mr. WANG Lei, Coordinator of Cyber Affairs, Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the People’s Republic of China, and Lee Choong-myon, Ambassador for International Security Affairs and Special Advisor to the Minister, Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Korea, as well as representatives from relevant ministries and agencies attended the consultation.
- In this consultation, the three countries exchanged views on the recent environment in the field of cyber affairs as well as the policies of each country on cyber issues and the impact of COVID-19 on cyber security. They also discussed issues such as the processes in the international field, including UNGGE and OEWG, and future cooperation in the context of the trilateral partnership on cyber issues.
