The 10th meeting of the Japan - France Nuclear Cooperation Committee

  1. On January 12th and 13th 2021, the 10th Japan - France Nuclear Cooperation Committee was held online, co-chaired by HONSEI Kozo, Ambassador, Director-General, Disarmament, Non-Proliferation and Science Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Japan, and François JACQ, General Administrator of the CEA of France.
  2. The participants exchanged views on their respective nuclear energy policies, nuclear safety cooperation, nuclear emergency preparedness and response, back-end of the fuel cycle, radioactive waste management, nuclear research and development, decommissioning of TEPCO’s Fukushima Daiichi Nuclear Power Station and off–site environmental remediation. Based on the discussion in the committee, further enhancement of nuclear cooperation between Japan and France is expected.
