Japan-Australia Foreign Ministers’ Informal Talks

On November 8, commencing at 8:20 a.m. for approximately 10 minutes, Ms. KAMIKAWA Yoko, Minister for Foreign Affairs of Japan held an informal talk with Senator the Hon. Penny Wong, Minister for Foreign Affairs of the Commonwealth of Australia who stopped by Japan after her visit to China.
- The two Ministers exchanged views on various issues in the Indo-Pacific region in light of the visit to China by the Hon. Anthony Albanese MP, Prime Minister of the Commonwealth of Australia. They concurred that Japan and Australia will continue to work closely together as the central pillar of the coordination among like-minded countries.
- The two Ministers had candid discussions on the CPTPP from a strategic perspective and concurred to continue to work closely together.
- The two Ministers also exchanged views on the situation in the Middle East and its implications.
