Study Tour in Fukushima Prefecture for the Diplomatic Corps to Japan

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Japan will conduct a study tour for diplomatic corps to Japan in collaboration with Fukushima Prefecture on August 2 and 3, 2023.
- The study tours have been conducted annually since fiscal year 2010 by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs together with local governments or bodies in order to showcase regional attractions such as history, culture, tourism, local products, and industries to the diplomatic corps stationed in Japan.
- In this tour, under the theme “Revitalization Tour”, the diplomatic corps will visit the facilities related to the progress and current situation of reconstruction in Fukushima Prefecture after the Great East Japan Earthquake and the nuclear disaster, the renewable energy research and the environmental protection, and also expand knowledge of Fukushima’s various attractive points, such as industry, tourism, local food, among others.
- It is expected that this study tour will provide a good opportunity for participants to deepen their understanding of the progress and current situation of reconstruction in Fukushima Prefecture and its diverse attractions, and also to expand exchanges between Fukushima and the participating countries.
