Japan-UAE Foreign Ministers’ Telephone Talk

On April 24, commencing at 09:40 p.m. for approximately 10 minutes, H.E. Mr. HAYASHI Yoshimasa, Minister for Foreign Affairs of Japan, held a telephone talk with H.H. Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of the United Arab Emirates. The overview is as follows.
- Minister Hayashi stated that he is monitoring the situation in Sudan with grave concern and that Japan calls on all actors to cease the violence immediately. Minister Hayashi also requested the UAE’s cooperation in ensuring the safety of Japanese citizens in Sudan. In response, Sheikh Abdullah stated that the UAE is ready to fully cooperate with Japan's request and explained the ongoing efforts by the UAE. The two Ministers confirmed that they will continue close coordination.
- In addition, the two Ministers confirmed that they will continue to work together in further promoting bilateral cooperation in various areas under the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership Initiative (CSPI).
