The COVID-19 Global Action Plan (GAP) Foreign Ministerial Meeting

- On February 8, commencing from 22:00 (JST), Foreign Minister HAYASHI Yoshimasa will attend the COVID-19 Global Action Plan (GAP) Foreign Ministerial Meeting hosted by the Honorable Antony Blinken, Secretary of State of the United States of America in an online format.
- The meeting will be held to evaluate the progress of the efforts, clarify the remaining gaps, and summarize the way forward concerning the role that foreign ministries should play in global health security. This meeting is expected to be the final Ministerial of the initiative, after a year has passed since the launch of GAP.
- The meeting will be attended by foreign ministers and representatives from countries, regions and international organizations, including Minister Hayashi, the U.S. Secretary Blinken, and Dr. Tedros Adhanom, Director-General of the World Health Organization (WHO). The participants will meet to share the progress of efforts and challenges on the six core Lines of Effort (LOEs) of GAP and discuss the future cooperation necessary in the international community. This meeting will be streamed on the official website of the U.S. Department of State.
