Coutrersy Call on State Minister YAMADA Kenji by H.E. Dr.Kamalinne Pinitpuvadol, Secretary-General, Asian-African Legal Consultative Organization (AALCO)

State Minister Yamada talks with Dr.Kamalinne, Secretary-General, AALCO

On February 1, commencing at 4:50 p.m., for approximately 20 minutes, Mr. YAMADA Kenji, State Minister for Foreign Affairs of Japan, received a courtesy call from H.E. Dr.Kamalinne Pinitpuvadol, Secretary-General, Asian-African Legal Consultative Organization (AALCO), who is visiting Japan from January 31 to February 7 upon invitation by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Japan. The overview is as follows.

  1. State Minister YAMADA, introducing Japan's efforts to appeal for the importance of the rule of law in the international community, stated that we need to enhance the "rule of law," instead of "rule by force," under the current situations where the international community faces a variety of challenges by Russia' aggression against Ukraine. Also, State Minister YAMADA emphasized Japan' intent to provide support to AALCO to enhance the rule of law in Asian and Afrian regions.
  2. In response, Secretary-General Kamalinne, showing his gratitude and appreciation for Japan's contribution to AALCO thus far, stated that he would like to show his repsect to Japan's efforts for enhancement of the rule of law. Also, Secretary-General Kamalinne stated that he would like to work together to further promote the cooperation between Japan and AALCO.
