Peace Agreement between the Government of the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia and Tigray People’s Liberation Front (TPLF)

  1. On November 2, the Government of the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia and Tigray People's Liberation Front (TPLF) issued a joint statement confirming the end of the conflict.
  2. Japan welcomes this agreement as an initial step towards peace and stability in Ethiopia and its surrounding countries, and commends the efforts made by all parties involved, including the African Union (AU), Kenya, South Africa and the United States.
  3. It is necessary that all parties concerned will faithfully implement the agreement, and Japan will continue to work with other countries towards the peace and stability in Ethiopia and its surrounding countries.
